A Bouquet of Freshly Sharpened Pencils

So excited for PandaGirl to start First Grade today!! I'm sure there will be stories to tell later, but for now we are off to a great start for a GREAT year!! I am ecstatic to NOT be working full-time, but rather will be teaching music classes to the babies through age four at our church's child development center on Mondays and Fridays. This is the place where I worked two days a week teaching four year olds the year before last and LOVED every second of it!! I can't wait to get that ball rolling. Living on a budget again begins, too. YIKES! Last paycheck from my "job" came last week. : ( NOT sad about the awful full-time work schedule being gone, though. Thanks to all of you who listened to me whine my way through that ordeal all last school year. ; )

More to come from the Tales of a First Grader...

  1. Best wishes with all the 1st grade transitions. I'm so happy that you aren't returning to your full-time work schedule. You must feel a HUGE sense of relief. I'm trying to not be too grumbly about work right now, but I'm losing that battle. I also lose Mr. Mom soon. He returns to his elementary school after Labor day.

    Have a great week!!

  2. My little girl started first grade two weeks ago and she assures me that the day "zips" by much faster than kindergarten!?? Your new job sounds like a much better fit for you, I hope you love it.

  6. OK...I'm LOL b/c I am referring to the movie quote as well. It did not escape me. Love the movie and LOVE getting new school supplies...even as a teacher. I don't know if you ever knew that that is a "thing" my dad and I do together. Shop for cool pens and stuff...we always have. When we're together, he asked, "Hey, wanna go to [insert store name here Staples, Office Depot, Walmart, etc.]?" I love it!

Hope PG has a great year!
